Special Classes for

Boys and Girls from 5 years

TOP 5 REASONS TO ENROL YOUR CHILD IN TO OUR TAE KWON-DO “CUBS CLASSES”

Physical Fitness

Tae Kwon-Do is a very good source of exercise. The children are educated at a very early age that exercise should be a positive enjoyment,

not a punishment for bad behaviour. The activities are energetic and exciting which encourages both boys and girls to participate.

Regular training will improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance, strength and  overall energy levels.

Life Skills

The target-setting skills in the syllabus provide attainable goals. Unlike team sports when sometimes children feel if they “under achieve” they

are letting the whole team down. Tae Kwon-Do is a physical activity which can provide individual character development.

This includes discipline, self-control, patience, respect and good manners, eye contact, public speaking, courage, etc.

Gradual interaction within the group improves social and leadership skills. This can progress to joining one of our demonstration teams or

perhaps deciding to enter the sport of Tae Kwon-Do -  competitions.

Acquiring the pattern of success through their experiences in Tae Kwon-Do, at a young age, will help children succeed in their adult ambitions.

Our patient Instructors teach, guide and supervise, not forgetting, of course, the best type of learning happens when a lesson in fun!

Self-Defence

Self defence is the most obvious reason that comes to mind for joining the class. Stranger Danger is a serious

subject integrated in to class. While teaching self-defence techniques the emphasis is always about personal

responsibility, avoidance tactics and “how and why not to hit”. How ones actions effect others and teaching

reasonable force and offering choices when it comes to self-defence.

Behaviour Issues

Good rules of behaviour in class are enforced and a code of conduct is issued to all student within the first few weeks.

Patient, experienced Instructors, together with a structured class is a great aid to improving attention span and

listening skills. Tae Kwon-Do is a supplement to a child’s education. The positive re-enforcement in goal setting

skills improves behaviour and these accomplishments develop a positive self-image which can lead to academic

and athletic success. Children want structure and they crave discipline, making them feel secure in school, in the

class room and in public settings. They find this structure and discipline in Tae Kwon-Do training and the ability

to discipline themselves.

Safe + Social + Out of School Activity

If children are going to practice “what they see on television” then why not let them be guided by a qualified martial

arts Instructor. The unique characteristic of Tae Kwon-Do are the 5 tenets. (*see highlighted green below) These tenets

are a learning aid for Instructors and student a alike and go hand-in-hand with the oath of Tae Kwon-Do which all

students learn and recite regularly in the junior classes

The building blocks of our system are themes, including:

* Courtesy/ Integrity/Self Control/Perseverance/Indomitable Spirit/Confidence/Friendship/Self Awareness/

    Self-Esteem/Dedication/Self-Improvement/ Respect/Goals and achievements.

The class is a friendly social setting where children can meet other like-minded boys and girls from all walks of life.

75% of students start on their own and go on to make new friends.

THE T.A.G.B. ASSOCIATION AND INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS

Our resident Instructors are all members of the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB).

One of the first benefits of joining the TAGB is that it is one of the largest martial arts associations in the world.

With over 25,000 members training within 500 clubs throughout the United Kingdom. The TAGB is affiliated to

Tae Kwon-Do International and is a member of the British Tae Kwon-Do Council, which is backed by Sport England.

All TAGB Instructors have to take a course of exams under guidance of Tae Kwon-Do International to become

recognised Instructors and all approved schools have to maintain a high standard throughout and follow a nationally

recognised syllabus. All Instructors and assistant Instructors hold current First Aid Certificates and CRB enhanced

disclosure certification.
