FIRST GRADING FAQ’s return to Grading Details page Q Where in the school is the grading? A: When you arrive at the school follow the road leading to the car park/play ground and waiting-area. Q: What time should we arrive at the school? A: If you are in Group One then please arrive prompt at the stated time. All other groups we request you allow extra time for traffic delays and hold-ups and allow plenty of time to prepare in advance for the grading. Q: What would happen if we arrived late? A: We cannot guarantee the student would be able to grade as the time scale could be very difficult. Q: Can spectators watch the grading? A: No, spectators are not allowed in the grading hall, but a waiting-area, with toilets, is available at the school. Q: Who is the examiner? A: The grading examiner is Master David Oliver, eighth degree black-belt, chairman of the T.A.G.B. and president of Tae Kwon-Do International. Q: What should the student wear for the grading? A: A clean white T.A.G.B. uniform (dobok) is required and the student must wear their belt. * see below Please also ensure that the student has ALL the required equipment with them for the grading. We do not have spare belts, uniforms or equipment for a student to borrow. Please double check you have all your equipment before you leave home. Q: How long will the grading take? A: Approximately one hour for lower grades, possibly two hours for higher grades (blue belt plus) , but we DO NOT recommend that parents leave junior students unaccompanied at the school, before or after the grading. Q: How do we find out the results? A: Results will be published on the website www.tkdclubs.com from the Monday PM after the Grading. (The link to the Grading Details page is from the Club Newsletter.) The results will also be notified on the next club training session and all new belts are given out at the club by the Instructor. Q Can I telephone or e-mail for the results? A: No, results are not given by telephone or e-mail. You will have to arrange for the results to be collected from the club by a fellow student. * HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GRADING Please ensure the student’s uniform is of the required length and NOT rolled up on trousers or sleeves. No jewellery, wrist bands, watches to be worn and please ensure hair bands are kept to a basic minimum.
